- Charter Fishing - The Destin Army Recreation Area has two six passenger charter boats. Our 27’ Boston Whaler is equipped with a marine head and air conditioning for a comfortable day of deep sea, big game fishing or in-shore trolling. Brand new in 2008, our Light Tackle Triton Center Console boat is perfect for bay and near-shore Gulf fishing. The charter fleet also offers dolphin watching and harbor tours and a water taxi service to Noriega Point, Crab Island and Harbor Walk Village in the Destin Harbor. Current rates and fees can be found online or at the front desk.
- Fishing Pier - A Florida fishing license is required to use our 200’ fishing pier, located next to the marina. Crabbing off the pier is popular, though seasonal restrictions apply). Pier lights have been installed for night time viewing of the sea life. Crabbing or fishing is prohibited in the marina basin for the safety of the vessels.
- Bay Waterfront Area - The Choctawhatchee Bay runs the length of the property and offers a variety of recreational opportunities. The crystal clear natural waters and shallow depths make it the perfect place for fishing, crabbing, wading, snorkeling and boating. There is no designated swimming area and no lifeguards are present.
- Swimming Pool - Located in the center of the property with a great view of the bay, our large swimming pool has a mushroom fountain, loungers, chairs and tables with umbrellas and a pool for the kids.
- Playgrounds - The recreation area has two play areas, one by the villas and the other across from reception.
- Picnic Tables, Chairs and Grills - Grills can be found outside of most villas, next to the marina and hotel units and at the RV sites. Picnic tables, loungers and adirondack chairs are located along the waterfront.
- Ice - Ice machines are located near the pool and next to Rooms 126, 133 and 226. Bulk ice is sold at the marina and the front desk.
- Laundries - Laundries are located at the RV park and next to rooms 126 and 133. Please do not leave laundry unattended. A change machine is located in reception.
- Fitness Facilities - Two treadmills are located at reception. Kayaks and bikes are available for rent. The roads surrounding the recreation are safe for running and limited mostly to local residents.
- Vending - Vending machines are located across from the pool, at the marina and reception. Beer, ice cream and other items are sold at the marina during operating hours.
- Internet Services - Wireless Internet services are provided throughout the property by the Army Recreation Machine Program and Alternate Escape. This is a pay-for-use service and hourly, daily, weekly or monthly service plans are available. Current rates and fees can be found online or at the front desk.
- Indoor Recreation - A billiards table is located inside reception along with a big screen TV. There is also a separate lounge and TV viewing area.
- Housekeeping Services - During the summer months, we offer full service housekeeping. Rooms are stocked with a standard daily supply of linens, towels and amenities.
- Concierge - It is our goal to make your stay spectacular. The staff of the Destin Army Recreation Area is dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. Stop by the front desk and we'll be happy ot help you with dinner reservations or information about local attractions.
- Business Services - Our staff is here to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible, but if you find the need to concentrate on work, we will be glad to fax or mail your important documents. You will find a computer kiosk and internet access at reception.
- Other Items - A newspaper machine, guest phone, pay phone and change machine are located at reception.
